You probably know that regular maintenance of an air conditioner prevents frequent breakdowns, but did you know that cleaning is a crucial part of this regular maintenance? In fact, if there is nothing wrong with your system, you just need to inspect it for malfunctions and clean the necessary parts. Here are some of the benefits of cleaning your AC system:

It Fosters Heat Transfer

Cleaning the air conditioner coils (both the evaporator and condenser coils) helps to promote heat transfer. The evaporator coil absorbs heat from the house so that it can be channeled outside. This means your AC won't cool the house satisfactorily if the evaporator coils are clogged. The condenser coil, on the other hand, expels heat from the refrigerant to the outside air. This means the heat absorbed by the refrigerant won't be expelled efficiently if the evaporator coil is dirty. In short, both the coils need to be free from dirt and grime for efficient heat expenditure.

It Ensures the AC Operates at Safe Levels

Every AC system is designed to operate within a specific temperature range. The AC's rate of wear and tear accelerate if it operates outside the designated temperature range. Unfortunately, this is what will happen if the air conditioner is dirty. For example, if the coils are dirty and heat isn't being expelled efficiently, the AC will go into overdrive in an effort to boost its performance. Unfortunately, an overworked AC is prone to frequent breakdowns.

It Promotes Efficient Airflow

Efficient air circulation is also crucial to your AC's performance. This applies both to incoming and outgoing air; stale air needs to be channeled out of the rooms so that conditioned air can take their place. At the same time, the air has to pass through the filters for it to be cleaned so that you don't breathe in air pollutants; dirty air also affects the AC's performance.

Unfortunately, the AC filters won't perform their function if they are clogged with debris. This means the filters also need to be routinely cleaned. Washable filters should be regularly washed while other types of filters ought to be replaced regularly.

When was the last time you cleaned your AC? Don't assume that it is running optimally just because it hasn't broken down in the recent past. If it has been long since the last service, call a technician such as CNR Air Conditioning Inc as soon as possible for an immediate service and schedule regular services henceforth.
